Internet-PARs have been co-developed by The Faculty of Medicine Computer Centre (FMCC)
at The University of Newcastle and
The Personal and Academic Development for Students in Higher Education
(PADSHE) team at
The University of Nottingham.
In line with national policy the universities of Newcastle and Nottingham are implementing Internet-PARs at the institutional level for undergraduates.
The partners are disseminating their experience of Internet-PARs implementation to 50 HEIs during 2000-2002.
The Department for Education and Employment
(now DfES) funded the initial 1998-2000 Newcastle-Nottingham Internet PARs project for undergraduates and the subsequent 2000-2002
project to disseminate implementation experience, develop pilot Internet-PARs to support Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in Medicine and Education,
and to test the feasibility for pedagogic and technological harmonisation between Progress File in 16-19 education and PDP in HE.
The Innovations Team have been
appointed by the HEFCE to co-ordinate the Innovations projects funded by the DfEE, including the Newcastle-Nottingham Internet PARs for CPD in Medicine and Education.
